ImmunoVen contains a host of herbs that are used across the globe for immune boosting, from the Reishi mushroom, to Irish Moss. These herbs and more provide a phytonutrient blend that supports the work of the "big guns," PRL's tradmarked olive leaf extract Olea-Pro. Perhaps as notable as what these powerful supplements contain is what they don't contain: PRL promises no ingredients that aren't listed, and no excipients -- that is, no...

I always recommend pasture raised animal products to my patients. When I suggest pasture-raised, I am doing so for multiple reasons.
One significant factor I want my patients to understand is that pasture-raised products have a different nutritional profile than grain-finished meat products. The National Institutes of Health (NIH), a government agency, which funds health and medical research, has published studies verifying the superiority of grass-fed meat products in terms of nutritional value. Grass finished meats have 2-5 times more omega-3 fatty acids than grain finished meats. They contain beta-carotene, conjugated linoleic acids, and also contain significantly more of the antioxidants vitamin E, glutathione, superoxide dismutase (SOD), and catalase than grain-fed beef. These antioxidants play an important role in protecting our cells from oxidation, especially delicate fats in the cell membrane such as omega-3 and omega-6. You can wade through the analysis here.

The best food is local food, and the time for local food is NOW! Our Rogue Valley Growers & Crafters Markets started their week-day markets last month in March, and the Saturday markets will begin next month in May. Right now, you can choose from RVGCM's Ashland Tuesday Market and their Medford Thursday Market, both from 8:30AM to 1:30PM. The Ashland Tuesday Market continues to be held at the Ashland Armory at 1420 E. Main Street in Ashland, but the Medford Thursday Market has a new location in the re-furbished Hawthorne Park, at 501 E. Main Street in Medford, just a hop, skip and a jump from my office. You can even make a day of it -- come visit me on Thursday for some nutritional guidance, then pop in at the market to buy the kind of food that I recommend. Just call 541.326.8952 to schedule your appointment with me.
Elsewhere around the region, the Grant's Pass Outdoor Grower's Market is now open on Saturdays from 9AM-1PM at 4th and F Streets, and the Cave...
I can’t stop thinking about how crucial Ballot Measure 92 is to us as i ndividuals, as well as our social, health and wellbeing. In our recent past, as a nation we faced a similar dilemma with another product, cigarettes.
When scientists and medical researchers discovered the link between tobacco and a large host of health problems, they covered it up for decades. Doctors were endorsing cigarettes on TV commercials and in print media. These highly additive toxic products were available in vending machines accessible by children. Despite a colossal cover-up, there were whispers about cancer, emphysema and asthma. Small studies started to appear and grassroots led endeavors started to demand honesty regarding the risks associated with cigarettes. The industry published its own research declaring unequivocally the safety of their products. Eventually we stood at a crossroads. As a society we could accept the status quo or we could muster the will to save lives....
We are bombarded with media about farming, food production and the value of GMOs. Some of these articles and videos are cleverly disguised as "news" content, which in truth are advertisements for the sponsors. Many of us may feel overwhelmed by the variety of options available. Or we may freeze in the grocery aisle trying to balance the needs of our wallets with what we've seen or heard. When the choice is made, it is a reflection of our personal economy and values.
Many of us make choices without following them to their source or conclusion. We trust what we are told because it’s easier in our busy lives. We prefer what’s cheap because we’ve been taught to value immediate cost before other considerations. I know I have and sometimes still do. As human beings, we make choices with short-term glasses. As a result, the true scope of what we support is not apparent.
What Do You Support?
Option One: I support big agribusiness. ...
Hi Everyone,
I hope you will be inspired to:
Join the folks who are saying "No" to GMOs as they say "Yes" to their health!
The goal? To put pressure on food corporations to stop using GMOs in their foods. We believe that if just 5% of the U.S. population consciously started avoiding GMOs, they could be purged from our food supply.
The strategy: Avoid GMOs for 30 days and spread the word via digital media --email, blogs, Twitter, Facebook, etc. as well as word of mouth.
Be sure and vote YES on Measure 92 to get GMOs foods labelled in OR state!
With Gratitude,
Summer Waters, LAc, NTP, CGP
